GRADED: On The Subject of Owls - Triceracop - 2025-04-27 We proud members of Athênai have old traditions that we still honor. When I was inducted into the club, I did not expect esoteric ritual to be part of it. I cannot detail the precise nature of the ritual here as it would be a breach of my contract and if I can be entirely honest I have fears of reprisals from the organization's leadership. It is, after all, one of the oldest and most powerful organizations on the planet with a global reach. I am but a humble dinosaur trying to play football. And steal, but that's besides the point, of course. After the initiation ritual we started the incredibly mundane parts of joining a club. Getting our kit situated, setting up payroll, figuring out which bathrooms are best suited for a mid-afternoon bowel movement. The simple things that come with joining a new club and getting acclimated to a new work environment. There are only so many times you want to get lost trying to find a meeting room before it becomes embarrassing. It was a late night after almost everyone else in the facility had gone home. I was walking through a long hallway to make it to the parking garage, when I saw something I can't possibly explain at the end of the an intersecting hall. A towering, humanoid owl. And it was staring at me. |
