Draft day thoughts with Kori Mizukana - KoriMizu - 2025-06-15

Well...

This was certainly an exciting time for us Academy players, and I can say I'm incredibly humbled to be selected 8th overall by **Looks at the writing on his hand**  Schwarzwälder Fußballverein (God that's a mouthful and going to take a WHILE to get used to). I look forward to assisting SFV and Montreal over the coming seasons in whatever competition they're in, where ever I end up playing.

Admittedly though, I'm a bit surprised to see so many defenders and goalkeepers selected in the 1st round. I get that there's a precedent to draft for character over position, but I can't help but be somewhat proud to see so many players in positions similar to my own (at least, where I played in Academy) get picked up early on.

It's going to be a big change for me though, what without having the brick wall that is Snor Lax behind me, though that change of pace might be good, and the only thing I can really do is work with management at my new team to adjust and adapt as well as possible. I will also still have Tom Mæddisen next to/in front of me, so in a way, I guess, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

I, for one, am excited to see what happens next for me.
