Comparing this season to last season, defensively Nikolai performed better. Although having the same tackle percentage, he managed to take a step up in his interceptions and shot blocking, as well as conceding fewer fouls and limiting mistakes. Something interesting I also saw while doing this is Nikolai seems to look more comfortable in the finishing aspect now, passing less than last season and taking more shots, which ultimately gave Nikolai 5 goals. Not only that, it means that Nikolai was more effective with his passing, reaching more assists than last season in less passes. As the off season rolls in and training camps will become available, Nikolai will put the training to good use and come back to the SSL stronger next season, hoping to achieve top 8 in the league and take a step closer to becoming an influential player that everyone would want on their team.
