New Team, New Opportunity - OblivionWalker - 2025-08-21
Taking a deep breath as he shouldered his bag, Takeda took a moment to look around as he reached into his pocket for the key he had been given to his new furnished "flat" as it was called here.
Montreal had been upfront with him about being exposed for the expansion draft and he understood that they couldn't protect everybody. Only one of the two teams, Liffyside, had actually reached out to talk to him and while he liked where he was, he felt like if he did indeed end up going to Ireland, it would be okay. The general manager seemed nice and enthusiastic about the possibilities ahead of the club and when he was notified that he had indeed been taken by Liffyside in the expansion draft, Takeda felt okay about it.
He had genuinely liked Montreal and felt like they had given him a good start, and he was hopeful of being able to take what he had learned there and hopefully be able to put in good performances for Liffyside once he got there.
His mother had reminded him that a new opportunity sometimes wasn't a bad thing, and he was going to do his best to make the most of things in Dublin. With his mind a bit more settled, Takeda inserted the key into the lock carefully and stepped into what was going to be his new home.
