Victoria Eagles are still awaiting their first win of the season after a frustrating draw against PS Jakarta.
Eagles took the lead in the 24th minute are clever play on the edge of the box allow Conner Reed to bag his 3rd goal of the season. His first time finish left the keeper grabbing at air as the ball flew into the back of the net. This goal sprung Jakarta into life with chance after chance being wasted, or Eagles defence in inspired mood (depending on which set of fans you speak to). Eagles held onto their lead until the
79th minute when Xavier Simmons left fly from the edge of the box into the side netting, a superb strike that not even two keepers would have kept out.
Jakarta may feel they deserved the win after posting an impressive xG of 1.55 vs 0.39 but thankfully for Victoria Eagles the game is played on the pitch and not by the statistics. With it being a slow start for the Eagles they will no doubt take inspiration from the draw against Jakarta who boost an impressive defensive record so far in the competition. Their next match against İstanbul F.K. they will hope the footballing Gods are smiling on them that day to kick start their season.
