Its matchday 12, PS Jakarta reveals a new formation against Sydney City, they have changed from a 4-3-3 formation to a 4-2-3-1 formation with 2 central midfielders, playing more aggressively than before, and it worked as they got 13 shots and 6 on target, while limiting their opponent to 5 shot and only 1 on target. They got an early goal at the 6th minutes, with Lam threading a pass through four defenders central to Papadopoulos, and he shoots it pass the keeper, then they seal the game at the 65th minutes, with James dribbling past the defense and put it in the back of the net close range, taking the game with a 2-0 victory.
Despite scoring less than their last match, fans are apparently very happy with the performance with this new formation, because every players seems to be performing better and more comfortably, but some does question that the change came in too late in the season and they wish it could have come earlier.
We got a few questions in with Lam after his Player of the Match performance.
How are you feeling after getting your third assists of the season and getting the Player of Match award?
''It feels good to be back in form, I haven't been able to perform after the first match of the season, and its definitely nice to be playing in my natural position.''
On the topic of the formation, how's the team feeling about it?
''I think everyone is happy with it, everyone is playing in their natural position comfortably, and are able to perform way better than before.''
Some fans questions the change in formation came in too late in the season, what do you think about it?
''I think thats valid, but personally it's better late than never, at least the change came and the team benefits from it, so we can end the season on a high note.''
The next match is going to be against 6th place Adowa Accra FC away, any thoughts on that?
''I think it is going to be a tough match, especially away, but I am confident that it won't be easy for them''
Lam seems confident with their new formation, lets see what will it bring for them in the next 2 matches.
