Quick look before the final 5 matchdays for the Majors PRO/REL situation - FuriousChicken - 2025-12-13 As this season still got the 12 teams, with the bottom 6 relegating to the new 2nd division of their respective (major/minor) category, I thought it would be a fun time to take a quick look at the current standings of for now the Major league. First off a quick disclaimer, this article was made after Major MD17, and thus everything is done up until this point. Let us first take a look at the current Major League standings. ![]() The current cut-off points is between Buenos Aires on 22, and Reykjavik on 21 points. This means with 5 games (15 points max) to go technically speaking only Tokyo is fully knocked out currently, and only Hollywood and Sao Paulo are safe in being in D1 next season. So how about the other 9 teams, they have the following schedules: Shanghai (31) - Tenochtitlan (4) / Hollywood (1) / Sao Paulo (2) / Liffeyside (8) / Romana (5) - Average: 5 Tenochtitlan (30) - Shanghai (3) / Xelaju (11) / Tokyo (12) / Buenos Aires (6) / Catalunya (10) - Average: 8.4 Romana (25) - Hollywood (1) / Sao Paulo (2) / Liffeyside (8) / Reykjavik (7) / Shanghai (3) - Average: 4.2 Buenos Aires (22) - Reykjavik (7) / Catalunya (10) / Schwarzwälder (9) / Tenochtitlan (5) / Hollywood (1) - Average: 6.2 Reykjavik (21) - Buenos Aires (6) / Liffeyside (8) / Catalunya (10) / Romana (5) / Schwarzwälder (9) - Average: 7.6 Liffeyside (20) - Sao Paulo (2) / Reykjavik (7) / Romana (5) / Shanghai (3) / Xelaju (11) - Average: 5.6 Schwarzwälder (18) - Xelaju (11) / Tokyo (12) / Buenos Aires (6) / Catalunya (10) / Reykjavik (7) - Average: 9.2 Catalunya (16) - Tokyo (12) / Buenos Aires (6) / Reykjavik (7) / Schwarzwälder (9) / Tenochtitlan (4) - Average: 7.6 Xelajú (15) - Schwarzwälder (9) / Tenochtitlan (4) / Hollywood (1) / Sao Paulo (2) / Liffeyside (8) - Average: 4.8 Looking at the above results, knowing that for the average higher = better, it seems like Tenochtitlan with a 9 point gap, and the 2nd easiest schedules is very likely to be the 3rd team in the Major League 1st division, Shanghai while a rougher schedule, has a 10 point gap (more like 9.5 point as if this happened they are likely to lose on GD), as this is a 4-game gap I would predict Shanghai to be the 4th team in the first division. On the lower side I do think Liffeyside is unlikely to join the first division, having the 4th roughest schedule, while currently being in 8th a lot needs to go right for them, or wrong for other teams, the same goes even more for Xelaju, having the 2nd hardest schedule with 7 points behind safety. which means the last 2 spots in league A and B will be fought over between Romana (roughest schedule, 4 points in safety), Buenos Aires (middle of the pack schedules, 1 point ahead), Reykjavik (3rd easiest schedule, 1 point behind), Schwarzwälder (easiest schedule by far but 4 points behind), and a very dark horse in Catalunya (3rd easiest schedule just like Reykjavik, but 6 points behind). So my personal prediction for the first and second major league division are (the lower a team, the less certain): First Division: 1. Hollywood (Already safe) 2. Sao Paulo (Already safe) 3. Tenochtitlan 4. Shanghai 5. Buenos Aires (very close) 6. Reykjavik (very close) Second Division: 1. Tokyo (Already relegated) 2. Xelaju 3. Liffeyside 4. Catalunya (dark horse) 5. Schwarzwälder (very close) 6. Romana (very close) But taking a look like the results of these final 5 games are the same as the first time these teams played each other. This would see the following being the final standings: 1. Hollywood - 55 (+47) 2. Sao Paulo - 49 (+46) 3. Tenochtitlan - 43 (+20) 4. Shanghai - 39 (+8) 5. Romana - 32 (+1) 6. Schwarzwälder - 28 (-23) 7. Buenos Aires - 26 (-4) 8. Liffeyside - 26 (-10) 9. Catalunya - 24 (-13) 10. Reykjavik - 23 (+1) 11. Xelaju - 16 (-34) 12. Tokyo - 6 (-40) So yeah, maybe my prediction was very bad as looking at the first half results Buenos Aires just misses out in 7th, and Reykjavik even ends up in 10th. |
