Comparing Traits of the top ten goalscorers last season - ReadySalted - 2026-02-20 Morning All No Face here again with a bit of a more boring but potentially useful article here... We all know that Paccell is where the money is alongside other stats but traits are one of the last few bits of the engine we don't seem to be 100% on So just for context everyone starts with 2 traits and you can buy a total of 5 extra traits to have 7 traits in total, each trait costs 3 Million and the general consesus is that buying the seasonal 18 TPE is far more important each season (I'm fully in this camp) so the majority of players will have 2 or 3 traits throughout their careers, however the players that do go mad money wise have between 5-7 traits so it will be intresting to see what correlations we can find, however I feel like anyone with 7 traits is going to get a little bit freaky deaky after 4 or 5 traits, I'm expecting things like takes long distance free kicks etc. Now for those who are slighty newer the general meta in standard FM is PI (player instructions) to get every player behave how you want however these are banned in the SSL and the instructions are based off of the role they are given (For example a no nonsence CB will stay back at all times because of their role, but we can't choose to make a Ball Playing Defender to stay back) One of the main ways we are able to mitigate this is by traits, certain traits line up with play instructions (Moves into channels ect) so I thought it would be intresting to check my position (Striker) to see what traits are the most dominate between the top scorers Now I do fully understand this will be correlation instead of causeation but should be fun regardless Before I check (You're just gonna have to take my word on this) I feel the top 2 traits will be 1) Places Shots - I'll be honest I haven't done any testing on this but my understanding is that this trait is pretty cracked for Strikers 2) Beats Offside Trap - The whole league plays an incredibly high line I don't know about you but I'm tryna beat offside traps Now lets look at the top scorers from last season 1) Julian Rubio - USP - 26 Goals in 22 Apps Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap Likes To Round Keeper 2) Mikko Rashford II - Reky - 24 Goals in 22 Apps Gets Forward Whenever Possible Places Shots 3) Predrag Dobric - Romana - 21 Goals in 22 Apps Gets Forward Whenever Possible Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap Moves Into Channels Hits Free Kicks With Power Places Shots Tries Long Range Free Kicks Curls Ball 4) Pete Martell - Hollywood - 19 Goals in 22 Apps Dictates Tempo Shoots With Power 5) Tre Qartista - Reky (Catalyuna last season?) - 17 Goals in 22 Apps Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap Moves Into Channels Plays One-Twos Places Shots Tries Tricks 6) Carolien Miedema - Liffeyside - 16 Goals in 22 Apps Gets Forward Whenever Possible Moves Into Channels Places Shots 7) Sterling Scott - CABA - 15 Goals in 22 Apps Hits Free Kicks With Power Likes To Round Keeper Places Shots Shoots From Distance Tries First Time Shots Tries Long Range Free Kicks Curls Ball 8) Thomas Hohenhahn - Shanghai - 14 Goals in 22 Apps Gets Forward Whenever Possible Gets Into Opposition Area Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap Attempts Overhead Kicks Shoots With Power Tries First Time Shots 9) Juozas Kupinas - Hollywood (Kaapstad last season?) - 14 Goals in 22 Apps Gets Forward Whenever Possible Gets Into Opposition Area Places Shots 10) George Shaheen- Liffeyside - 14 Goals in 22 Apps Gets Forward Whenever Possible Curls Ball Honestly this was a bigger spread than I expected, before totalling these up I'm not actually sure what will come out on top, but I think my guesses should be pretty close to the top, now lets tally these all up Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap - 4 players Likes To Round Keeper - 2 players Gets Forward Whenever Possible - 6 Players Places Shots - 6 Players Moves Into Channel - 3 Players Hits Free Kicks With Power - 2 Players Tries Long Range Free Kicks - 2 Players Curls Ball - 3 Players Dictates Tempo - 1 Player Shoots With Power - 2 Players Plays One-Twos - 1 Player Tries Tricks - 1 Player Shoots From Distance - 1 Player Tries First Time Shots - 2 Players Gets Into Opposition Area - 2 Players Attempts Overhead Kicks - 1 Player So from this date we can conclude Gets Forward Whenever Possible and Places Shots seems to be the key traits to get those goals, with Likes To Try To Beat Offside Trap a solid 3rd choice, it seems after that it gets into dealers choice and tough to find too strong of a correlation Annoyingly enough I'm missing one of the 3 key traits, if only I had an article coming in to fund another one....... Until next time <3 |
