Some Quick Thoughts on Krung Thep's Season Thus Far - Turd Ferguson - 2026-03-10 Thus far I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with how Turd’s first season in the league has been going. Standings-wise, Krung Thep is hanging in there, as we have remained comfortably clear of the relegation zone so far, staying nine points ahead of CS Rova Mpanjaka, and ten points ahead of Montreal United. I would say Krung Thep still has a shot at the title too, as we are only six points behind the leaders, FC Kaapstaad. However, I think the goal for this season remains for us to stay in the top flight, which we are on track to accomplish. This is a good goal for our squad given our youth – most of our players are still developing, so to stay up in the top division and give our guys that experience while growing and learning as a team will be invaluable. It’s next season and beyond that I think will be the time we truly compete for a championship, so any honors we can win this season are a bonus. From a personal standpoint it’s been a bit of an up and down season, which is to be expected from a goalkeeper that has yet to reach 600 TPE for his career. Turd has really been thrown into the fire this season and there have been some real stinkers, but overall Turd is averaging a 6.86 match rating, which is not terrible (I think). One thing I hope to improve upon is clean sheets – Turd has only managed to put up a single clean sheet through his first ten career starts, so hopefully that ratio will improve moving forward. And if I’m reading my statistics correctly, I think Turd has gotten a little bit unlucky on top of everything else. With a save percentage of 72% and an expected save percentage of 85%, it seems like Turd should be having more success in net. I don’t know if this discrepancy is due to poor luck, poor shot stopping form, or something more complex about soccer tactics that eludes me. In any case, if Turd’s actual save percentage can come more into line with his expected save percentage, I think Turd could be in for a heck of a rookie season. But we shall see what happens. Onwards and upwards! |
