Off season antics for Walker - fathands3k - 2026-03-21 With the league season now officially over for Luke Walker, we decided to ask him what his future holds and what he plans to do in the off season to prepare himself for the rigors of next season. Luke, with the season behind you, can you reflect on your what your goals for the season were and if you hit them? I was very happy with the number of goals I scored, with 8 goals and 2 assists across 12 appearances compared to 9 goals and 3 assists in 23 games the year before I definitely felt I went up a level and adjusted better to the league. When you look at all the key metrics you can see the improvement I had made in my game and no doubt that will continue in the off season. The work never ends, I'm eager to improve further next season and the off season will be key in that to ensure I hit the ground running. What in the off season are you potentially going to be working on to see improvement on the pitch? While I don't want to give away anything on what I'm looking to improve, I can tell you I'm looking to become a more feared striker. I want the goals, I want the assists, I want to help the team be the best they can be. I feel at the top of the pitch you can create the pace in how how you track, press, tackle, pass, shoot, hold up the ball. I don't want defenders to only be worried about my finishing, I want them to know they have been in a tough physical battle against someone who they will need to be perfect to defend against. What was your favourite moment during the season? Anytime McNeil scored or assisted. Love that guy, he gives 100%, 60% of the time, absolute trooper. With him moving onto bigger and better things next season, I will watch closer and what magic he can conjure up for a whole organisation and not just down the right hand side of the pitch |
