The Snub of Takahashi - Nol15736 - 2026-04-18
In our latest match against SFV the game came and went and Liffeyside was able to finish off with a 3-0 win. While POTM ended up going to Orla Hughes-Galloway I'd like to argue that it should have went to Takeda Takahashi instead.
Sure Orla had an assist and created some chances, and sure Carolien Miedema scored a couple goals as did Andres Pedrillo.
But if you watch closely enough Takahashi was in position from the word go. He was open for several shots that would have without question been goals. He also played really good defense and while the yellow card received was off camera I firmly believe it was likely unwarranted. I know in my heart of hearts that we don't win this game without the play from number 16. He was right where he needed to be on the pitch for 90+ minutes and it is a shame that the system didn't see his full value.
I suppose I'll also give an honorable mention to @GHamss for his clean sheet. But really that clean sheet should be awarded to Takahashi if it were up to me.
