A Swan Song at North Shore - Nike - 2026-04-19

As North Shore closes out its recent 2-1 victory over AS Paris in the first minor division, the complexion and possibilities of the new season is starting to show.

However, as North Shore has aspirations for a deep run with this stacked lineup, there are some lingering thoughts about the fact that this might be a last run for this talented roster.

Del Pirlo continues to put notches in the goal column and he marches toward 200 on his career. And his teammate and fellow North Shore draft product Dwayne Pruney is trying to pickup a milestone of his own. A promotion to the big club. As North Shore has plenty of season ahead of it, the young guns are looking at the Reykjavic roster and seeing some openings that may give them an opportunity to play for the big club sooner than later.

“It’s a lot of pressure and it weighs on you. You know?” Said Pruney before the matches kicked off for the minors seasons. “As I consider what could be my last season here with this group of folks, I’m reminded by how awesome of an experience it has been being here. But I also recognize that an upcoming promotion also means that folks here are expecting a lot from me this season. To be quite frank, I’m expecting quite a lot from myself. But we really just need to take the season one game at a time.”

When it comes down to it, the pressure of a final send off can wear heavy on this North Shore roster. However, you can also expect them to be a favorite in the first division of the minors as the next few matches progress. The strength of the roster is there. The team chemistry continues to build. And hopefully, that will all culminate in an incredible performance for the club all season, before some of its talent graduates to the next level.
