Cup Match - McLumberjack - 2026-04-29
There is always something special about a cup match. The atmosphere, the all or nothing nature of it. It is an exhilarating feeling that few get to experience. Today I once again get to walk onto the pitch and give it my all for 90 (or even 120) minutes.
An hour and a half of effort with an ending of immense extacy or deep melancholy.
Paris will be facing a much stronger and more experienced team in Reykjavik, on paper this should be a walk in the park. However, and I will keep using this expression because I love it, football is not played on paper, it is played on grass!
The day of.... ANYTHING can happen, the lights shine just as bright for both teams. Even we do not manage to beat them I certainly hope USP will beat kaapstad and advance to the next round. Honestly the cup draw has been incredibly lopsided, with USP, Kaapstad, Shanghai, Reykjavik, Hollywood and Paris all on the same side of the bracket. However xelaju managed to win it last year too while not being favorites at all, so perhaps they will be able to capture magic once again.
All I know is that I will give it my all tonight and that is all I can do.
