Eagles Soaring on the Wings of their Offense - Rancidbudgie - 2026-05-03 The Victoria Eagles have been on a solid run as of late, after a shaky 0-2 start to the season. Leading the way for this stabilization has been a rocket-powered offense, which now has 28 goals on the season, covering up the defensive woes of conceding 14 goals so far in the Academy year. Benefitting from a run-and-gun style, the Eagles have numerous considerable scoring threats up front. As things stand near the midway point of the season, Victoria boasts three of the top four goal scorers in the Academy, including the top goal scorer so far. Nacho Kusora has currently netted a whopping twelve goals, three ahead of second-place van Huntelrooy of Stockholm. So far into the season, he has both a hattrick and 4-goal performance, and is nearly averaging a brace per match. Victoria is not a one-person offense either. Joe Mormor has scored 6 goals so far on the season, and Bruce McAllister potting 5, good for 3rd and 4th best totals in the league so far, respectively. As one rival Academy staff member laments, "it's not enough to focus on shutting down one person. If you put too much into boxing Kusora, Mormor, McAllister, or Peña will step up. If you spread too thin, well..." This comment came after Kusora's thrilling 4-goal match, where the Eagles demonstrated the power of a high-octane offense. |
