Top 3 Players by Statistics - Academy Players - PidgeyDestined - 2026-05-08

As a little exercise for myself to try to learn more about the game, and hopefully see what stats where more prominent for each position, I decided to go through some main stat categories and pick out the top three players in each to highlight their impressive play through 8 games in the Academy (I am doing this before the week 9 Index has been updated.) Please, if you have any suggestions for stats that I did not cover that are more important than the ones that I did choose let me know. I also did not dive into any advanced stats for this exercise, but I plan to add that in a future edition.

----Outfield Stats----
Goals

14 - Nacho Kusora - VFE - AM

Leading the Academy in goals to this point in the season is no surprise a Victoria Falls player. Kusora has been a scoring machine to this point of the season, scoring 5 more goals than the next closest player.

9 - Dennis van Huntelrooy - SIK - M/AM

Stockholm has been having a grand season, and Huntelrooy is one of the biggest contributors to their performance. With 9 goals on the season, Huntelrooy has been putting together a fantastic season.

8 - Joe Mormor - VFE - AM

Another VFE player in the top three? Yeah, not really that surprising. VFE has been putting goals in at an almost historic pace, and Mormor is a huge reason why.

Assists

7 - Alex Pena - VFE - D

With all the goals the VFE is scoring, Pena is the main recipient of the assists. Pena has been a force with pinpoint passes to his teammates in scoring opportunities this season.

5 - Joe Mormor - VFE - AM

Mormor isn't just a scorer, he can thread the needle with the best of them. Mormor has 5 assists at this point in the season, meaning he has been directly involved in 13 goals this season through 8 games.

4 - Tim Quackareedoo - SYD - M
4 - Roberto Chaves - ACC - D/WB/AM
4 - Nick Kasak - ACC - AM

We have a three-way tie for third place, with Quackareedoo, Chavez, and Kasak all assisting on 4 goals apiece.

Pass % (min. 100 att.)

93.43% (455/487) - Jimothy Erikson - PRF - D

Erikson has been a pinpoint passer all season, completing a ridiculous 93% of them. PRF shouldn't worry when he has the ball on the field.

90.5% (419/463) - Martin Krpan - SIK - D

The main distributor in Stockholm, Krpan has been extremely accurate for one of the top offenses in the Academy.

90.02 (379/421) - Peter Castellani - IFK - D

Istanbul has sat around the top of the league for a while this season, and the passing from Castellani is a main force in their offensive output. 9 out of every 10 passes he makes finds their target.

Key Passes

32 - Sadie Black - PRF - D/WB/AM

Topping the list of most Key Passes is Port Royals Sadie Black. Black has completed a sweet 32 key passes to this point in the season, tying for most in the Academy.

32 - Owen Bryant - PRF - M

Tying Black for most key passes is teammate Owen Bryant. Port Royal has two of the most deadly passers in the Academy this season.

31 - Walter Blanco - VFE - WB

Rounding out the top three key passers of the season is Victoria Falls' Walter Blanco. This is an extremely tight race, and it would surprise nobody if Blanco ends up out pacing all other Academy players in key passes.

Chances Created

16 - Alex Pena - VFE - D

Another VFE player topping an offensive list. Pena has been the biggest facilitator this season and creating chances. He currently has 3 more than any other player.

13 - Walter Blanco - VFE - WB

Within Blanco's 31 key passes, he has created 13 chances for his teammates. Victoria Falls was sure to have a few players atop this category when looking at all of their goals scored on the season.

12 - Sadie Black - PRF - D/WB/AM

Another player from our key passers categorytagory, Black has created 12 chances for teammates to this point. PFE has a good team, and Black should see more chances to create shots for teammates going forward.

Successful Headers

54 - Martin Krpan - SIK - D

Krpan has been a force with his head to this point in the season. He would be running away with this if not for close competition for number 2 on the list.

53 - Don Banjo - SYD - D

Coming in just behind Krpan is Banjo who has 53 successful headers through 8 games. It looks to be a close race between this two around the 3/4 mark of the season.

46 - Dennis van Huntelrooy - SIK - M/AM

In distant third is Huntelrooy, with 46 successful headers. In what is a solid output, Huntelrooy is just lagging behind the leaders in this catagory.

Tackles Won

30 - Geronimo Datbasted - SIK - D/WB

Datbasted leads a tight race in tackles won on the season. With 30 won tackles, Datbasted is only 1 ahead of the number two spot.

29 - Ewan Purves - ACC - D

Coming in just behind Datbasted is Purves with 29 tackles won. Purves has been a menace to opponents all season, and looks to try to take the lead in week 9.

27 - Roberto Chavez - ACC - D/WB/AM
27 - Christopher Bergmann - IFK - D/WB/M

Chavez and Bergmann are both tied for third with 27 tackles won. Both of these players have plenty of tme to cover the ground between them and Datbasted for the top spot.

Interceptions

23 - Alex Pena - VFE - D

Pena leads the Academy in Interceptions with 23. That's 3 more than the number two player, cementing Pena's status as a tenacious defender at the Academy level.

20 - Geronimo Datbasted - SIK - D/WB

Datbasted has intercepted 20 passes to go along with his 30 tackles won. Datbasted is definitley one of the better defenders in the Academy this season.

19 - Don Banjo - SYD - D

Banjo has been a problem for opponents all season, and his 19 interceptions lands him inside the top three in the Academy. Sydney hasn't been having a great season, but Banjo has.

Clearances

25 - Martin Krpan - SIK - D

Krpan has cleared the ball more times than anyone else this season with 25. That's an outstanding 6 more clearances than the second most player has.

19 - Scorp E. Unshark - PRF - D/WB

Tied for second is Unshark with 19 clearances. It's going to be tough to catch up to Krpan by the end of the season though.

19 - Don Banjo - SYD - D

Banjo is in the same boat as Unshark. Both have 19 clearances, but still 6 behind Krpan who has the lead with 25.

Yellow Cards

4 - Roberto Chavez - ACC - D/WB/AM

Chavez has cemented himself as an irritant in the Academy. He currently leads all players in Yellow Cards for the season.

3 - Christopher Bregmann - IFK - D/WB/M

Coming in just behind Chavez is Bregmann, who has 3 yellow cards himself. Bregmann has a reputation around the league of getting under opponents skin.

Red Cards

1 - Alex Pena - VFE - D

I was very surprised to find that only one player in the Academy has drawn a red card to this point. Another top of the list for Pena, although this may not be the list you want to top.

Shots Blocked

9 - Peter Castellani - IFK - D

Easily topping the list of blocked shots in the Academy is Castellani, who currently has more blocked shots than games played. That's exactly what you want to see out of your Defenders.

7 - Ewan Purves - ACC - D

Coming in just behind Castellani is Purves who has 7 blocked shots of his own. The league leader will come down to one of these two, as no other player has more than 4 blocked shots.

Average Rating (Min. 200 minutes)

8.43 - Nacho Kusora - VFE - AM

Kusora has been the most efficient player in the Academy so far this season, coming in with an average rating of 8.43 in games played this season, one of only two players above 8 for the season.

8.09 - Joe Mormor - VFE - AM

It looks easy to keep a high score when you're always scoring goals/assists. Two VFE players lead the way hre, and are the only player who have played more than 200 minutes with an Average Rating over 8.

7.64 - Che Youz - ACC - DM

Coming in at third we have our first non-VFE player. Youz has been playing outstanding ball this season, as evident in the 7.64 average rating.

----Goal Keeper Stats----
Average Rating (Min. 200 minutes)

7 - Moew enBach - SIK - GK

enBach has been the most effiecient GK compared to minutes played so far this season. enBach is the only GK (min. 200 minutes played) with an average rating over 7.

6.92 - Tony Roberts - IFK - GK

Roberts is making this a close race going into the home stretch. He is only behind en Bach by .08 points.

6.79 - Albert Flowers - ACC - GK

Coming in at third is ACC GK Albert Flowers. Flowers has had a solid season thus far, and should still have time to overcome the lead the two in front have gained.

Goals Conceded

26 - Eric Duic - SYD - GK

Someone has to top this list, and sadly it has to be Duic. Sydney has not been having a great season, and it's hard to point the blame at Duic. The others around him have to give him some help in the net.

16 - Umaq Yupanqui - VFE - GK

I'm very surprised to see the VFE GK on this list. But I guess when you're scoring so much, it gives your opponent's plenty of opportunities as well.

13 - Ian Degon - PRF - GK

Degon rounds out our list with 13 goals conceded. It sounds bad being the third most, but Degon has allowed only half as many goals as Duic in Sydney.

Saves Parried

17 - Tony Roberts - IFK - GK

Tied for most with 17, Roberts has been outstanding at parrying shots this season. You'll see his name on a lot of these GK lists.

17 - Moew enBach - SIK - GK

enBach is another name you'll see a lot on these lists. Tied with Roberts for first, enBach also has 17 parries to their name.

12 - Umaq Yupanqui - VFE - GK

Coming in at a distant third is Yupanqui with 12 parries. I don't see them catching up by the end of the season.

Saves Held

15 - Eric Duic - SYD - GK

Duic has had plenty of opportunities, and he has turned that into the league in saves held. Duic probably has double the opportunities as any other GK though.

11 - Umaq Yupanqui - VFE - GK

Coming in at 2 is VFE GK Yupanqui. Again, VFE has given opponents a lot of opportunitiesrtunities this season because they are more focused on offense than defense.

10 - Tony Roberts - IFK - GK
10 - Moew enBach - SIK - GK

No surprise at all to see these two names on the list again.

Saves Tipped

9 - Eric Duic - SYD - GK

More chances, more tips for Duic. He's had an alright season as long as you don't look at goals conceded...

8 - Tony Roberts - IFK - GK

Roberts is of course on this list also. Bet you can't guess the next player...

7 - Moew enBach - SIK - GK

If you guessed enBach then you were correct! Way to go, I knew you could do it!

Save % (Min. 200 minutes)

76.09% - Tony Roberts - IFK - GK

This is the number I looked for when deciding who I thought the best GK in the Academy was. Roberts has saved over 3/4 of shots on his goal this season! That sounds elite to me.

73.91% - Moew enBach - SIK - GK

Just as I expected, Roberts and enBach were 1-2 in the save % catagory. These are the two most accomplished goalies this season, and it's obvious.

66.67% - Albert Flowers - ACC - GK

Coming in at a distant third is ACC goalie Albert Flowers. Flowers has been having a great season in his own right, saving 2/3 of shots his way. He's just lagging behind the two stars in the Academy at this point.

Again, this is just me looking through the stats and picking out which stats look most important. I would love some advice on which important stats I missed out on, or which stats I included that really don't matter in the scheme of things. Watching my first stream yesterday was AMAZING, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds, and where me and my fellow S26 players end up playing out our careers in the minors/majors!
