I’ll be better this time I swear (I’m lying).

Welcome to another Sunday night word-fest, and I’m going to talk about the impact of the fans. As we’ve seen from recent league postings, it appears as though home-crowd advantage has been busted for a time, despite it not appearing as though it would be the case. In that case, one should certainly wonder what the value would have been of driving up fan numbers in a different league scenario. If fans are truly that powerful, then what kind of players would fill the most seats outside of just raw output? Is there a world where something like flair would become a super-attribute, and being able to do tricks and playing out of trouble would become a meta. Home teams being 40% better on average means dulling that effect or expanding your own would easily become the sole most important factor an individual player could have. Gone goes speed, gone goes acceleration, give me theatrics all day baby! And then on the manager side, if one could control things like ticket sales and such, then surely dropping prices, chasing promotion money and sandbagging the team except for the flairiest players might be a strategy.

Something fun to not need to consider!
