Perfect meal before a match - Liscore - 2026-05-24

As the professional football players that we are, what we eat define what you will do during your matches, so if you don't want to play like Stockholm player's recent performances, you should be careful of what your alimentation is based on !

The biggest mistake players are doing is to not eat before your match. "No but you know, I don't want to be heavy", yes man, but you don't want to be substituted by your coach at the 30' because you can't run anymore. YOU HAVE TO EAT BEFORE YOUR MATCH ! But of course, you have to be aware of what you eat.

Your priority is to eat starchy food, like rice, pasta or polenta. This is considered as "slow sugar", you will so get. energy for all the match (and even the rest of the day) that is clearly different than eating McDonald or KFC, those meals are too fat and full of "fast sugar" that will give you a lot of energy for like one hour but then you will just want to sleep on the pitch.

You can also eat eggs as you like it, boiled, scrambled or plate but try to avoid fat meat like pork or sheep, there, you would probably feel heavy. You need to eat, but not anything that comes next to you !

Your football career is decided in a big part on the pitch of course ! But the preparation of your match / training will lead you to success !
