Who is Rylakn? - Rylakn - 2026-06-10 Who is Rylakn? It's a question that no doubt none of you are asking. Now whether that is because you already know me from my two months in the ISFL or you just don't care, who could say for sure. Either way, if you're reading this then I'm going to assume you want to know, so here goes nothing. Rylakn the User I'm a 32 year old Aussie gamer nerd from Melbourne, who very recently discovered Sim leagues and has quickly let it become a part of his identity. I found the ISFL much by accident and dove in head first. I spammed the media scene with countless articles and recaps, winning hearts and minds with my ever present wit and charming personality. It's also worth knowing two things about me, most of what I say is tongue in cheek or not meant as serious, and if I'm making jokes at your expense it is because I am comfortable that you can handle it. I have recently finished my first season in the ISFL, but have always had an eye on the SSL. I am an active media grader, contributor to the war rooms in both my minor and major teams and think I have established myself nicely in the league in my time there. I'll be completely honest here, I do intend to treat the SSL as a second league, getting less of my attention than the ISFL, but I have heard good things about the earning here and think it will work out quite nicely. At least I joined the discord and have been chatting, unlike some people…… All of that to say I still think I will be a high to max earner here and more importantly am always down to chat. Hit me up if you are interested in DnD, Path of Exile or old school Runescape. I have never played Football Manager, but I have watched a few saves on YouTube so am at least a little aware of how it works, just not in the context of SSL. As for real world soccer, yes we call it soccer here, deal with it. I am somewhat aware of what's going on, but less so than I used to be. My cousin and uncle in the UK are Southampton ticket holders, and they are my team too (nobody mention the spying OK?), but I haven't really watched much for a couple of seasons. Enough about me, let's get to chatting about Rylakn the Sim Soccer Prospect shall we? Rylakn the Player I'll do my best not to double up too much with my career task biography here, but the TLDR for Rylakn the player is that he was a very talented AFL prospect as a teenager and let his natural abilities go to his head. He assumed that he could float through life not really trying too hard at anything. Eventually his lack of effort caught up with him and he found himself repeatedly getting shoulder injuries and having his AFL career ripped from under him. He burnt many bridges with his arrogant personality and terrible attitude, so he wasn't picked up by any teams once he was finally released by the club that drafted him. In the months that followed his release, he took to drinking and eating junk to excess. He wallowed in self pity for a few months before realising that life isn't fair and if he wanted something to change it was going to have to be him that changed it. At 25 he's still young enough that he can accomplish great things if he works at it. He began eating healthier and getting back to a regimented exercise routine. Eventually it came time for him to look for another sport to focus his attention on. The repeated shoulder injuries and surgeries had left him with a very limited range of motion in his right shoulder, so he pretty quickly settled on Soccer as a sport he could try. He found himself a local club and tried out for a decent level of competition. In the AFL he was a speedy rebounding defender, so he pretty quickly settled into a wing back type role. After a month or two of training and playing, it became pretty evident to those watching that he had a real chance at something and that is when someone from the SSL Academy reached out. They said they had been watching his progress with interest and think he should give it a go. He has recently legally changed his name to just be Rylakn. Apparently you're a better soccer player if you only have one name or something? I'm not sure if that's true or not, but there's only one way to find out. So that has you all caught up on Rylakn’s life story. As he never really watched or played soccer growing up, he has a lot to learn about the rules and tactics as well as the history of the game. At least now he is focused, committed and has a much better head on his shoulders. Occasionally the old version still slips out (like changing his name for example), but he stands on the precipice of reinventing himself for a whole new audience. For any teams out there looking for a project player (lore wise, I myself have a decent knowledge and am not a project) with a very high ceiling, look no further than Rylakn.
