Omni's high thoughts on the SSL
#1
So like tomorrow is my last game of season 3 against Seoul then onto a new season. I'm really excited to see the new clubs even though one got spoiled for me, but dw I'm not gonna tell you so you'll all have to wait. 2 clubs next season should be an exciting challenge and with @G2019 at the helm, I'm expecting Torres to get overshadowed which brings joy to my heart. I've always wanted Cairo to be my rival and it kind of felt like that was gonna be the case last season after our penultimate battle for fourth last season then become a one sided affair this season. I mean I genuinely want them to do well and I think they'll slap. Although, if Torres goes to London, then I'll probably shit on Inter London FC next season and try to become their rivals. Really, I just don't like Franco Torres @r1c3bowl22 (you know I secretly love you).

I'm losing another player which is bitersweet. I'm really proud of @Aneeqs and everything he and Sydney City did this season. @pauadrian is okay, I appreciate them. @SteveAiva, well, I hope he slaps as well next season, although I feel like it might be a bit harder for him next season then it was for early expansion clubs. Steve is actually an amazing person to have in your locker room and he was chosen by his peers, not me, to be the captain. He's a real leader and so y'all be on the lookout for him. Also, @KZBZ is also fucking dope and will do an awesome job as well. I actually originally wanted to sign him, but he had already committed to Montreal. He was already interested and passionate right from the get go. I look forward to working with you on the award committee and really excited on what we'll do for next season but no leeks here.

As for me, I really want to continue helping this league grow. I really care about football culture in real life. Sometimes, I let it get to me a bit in the SSL. I know a sim league is fantasy and not supposed to be realistic, but at the same time, I can't help but want to create like a football culture. I know when Rio got relocated I was a bit sad, not because Seoul sucks or anything, but just because I've always loved Brazilian football (Ronaldinho got me into football freestyle and Barca). I really cannot wait to see another Brazilian club and I know in the future I would definitely be making a Brazilian recreate (not suggesting anything here, CF Catalunya or death). Anyways, I know I need to also take into others and for a lot of you guys, maybe football (or soccer) is like probably your 3rd or 4th (or 5th) sport or maybe you don't even watch it at all and you just love being in sim leagues. So, for me, I've had to have a bit of a reality check that most of you aren't actually that into football. It's cool though and I think it adds another dimension to the league. There's been really interesting characters and that's why I really wanna try to interview you all and hear your player's lore. I think the role-playing aspect of sim leagues is kind of what draws in people from all sorts of different interests that don't include soccer. Maybe I'm wrong though, so would love to hear your thoughts.

Circling back, I want to try to grow and try to understand what people kind of want and expect from this league. At the same time, I think there are some aspects of football that would be really cool to incorporate into a sim league that would make it a really unique experience. I'm not suggesting the SSL isn't already kind of it's own unique thing, but like football and football manager like there's so much potential and I cannot wait to see where we go. Like pro/relegation is gonna be fucking sick, but like there's other things that will makes this league fucking dope. I honestly can't wait to have some sort of open transfer market. Adding in halftime substitutions would be pretty dope. I wanna fucking leek my award ideas but y'all gonna have to wait. Hopefully a live draft show, maybe a preview and recap as well.

Now honestly, I've always had a tough time losing in fm. I get really sad and I honestly usually will play fm irl until I win before I get off, I never like to leave on a loss. In the SSL, I really gotta sit in that loss and it hurts even more, because I feel like I let all my players downs, especially the most active ones who really trust me and our process here. I want Passalunya to win some trophies with this current core squad I have right now and I would feel awfully bad if I couldn't produce anything with all these great users. I feel for any manager and that's why I try to be encouraging and even sometimes try to give advice or help if I can. I'm not like some fm expert, but I do understand the engine a bit and I know football tactics well enough irl. Obviously I want to win it all, but I also want it to be an enjoyable league for everyone.

If you made it this far, wow thank you. I think we got a lot of work ahead of us, but like it'll be great if we can sustain this league at a healthy pace. I am so grateful to have been apart of this league since S1 and I plan on being apart of this journey with you all for a long time. This has easily become my favourite sim league and like I feel bad for @RashfordU because I don't earn in the SHL anymore. Luckily, I can now with this article and secretly this was just a way for me to earn some SHL tpe or w.e. tf you get. I've made a lot of great friends here or have become more familiar with friends from other sim leagues. I hope you all share a bit of my passion for this league to and maybe we can make this some really special for years to come that we can all look back and be like yeah I was in SSL S1-3 w.e.. For me, as someone who just joined sim leagues not even a year ago, it's been so cool to be apart of something new and in a sport where I have a lot of passion. Thanks for following along my ramblings after getting really high and remember, smoke responsibly.

I originally laid out some foul words for you, but decided to be nice since Aneeq's your assman. Don't make me regret my decision

Bro....that article made my day....
I believe your club has also a cultural impact on the league, as usually soccer/football has irl.
