Theme Week - Sloths Starting 11
#1
For my theme week post I am probably going to end up with an unconventional starting 11 for my "Dream Team", but that is mostly because I really have no idea what is going on! I do not know soccer that well and I do not know the players in the league too well, so this really seems like a daunting task to me to put together a competitive squad. If there is one thing I know about soccer, it is that the team with the most goals at the end of the game is deemed the winner! So I am going to need to find some players for my team that can put the ball in the goal.

Right away I am adding Owen Forty-Four and Antonio Governo to the squad because they are the top two players for goals scored in league play so far this season. Also it is kind of neat to get a player from each division. I guess they will play at the top of my formation (or is that considered the bottom?) where they will be strikers to score goals.

I'll add Edwin van der Sloth to the team because that is my player and I can dream that he would be the one bombing long passes to the two players already there. He slides in on the midfield somewhere on the right side I guess. Skye Ryze and Jeffrey LaVert join Edwin here as they are the next two names on the goal scoring list. More players for Edwin to pass to! So I guess we are in some sort of 2-3 now. I need six more players!

Jay Jay Okocha will make the team as well because they are tied with 5 goals total with the other players so we can always use another deadly scorer. I guess now I should round out the team. C.J. Szydlowski makes the team's back end because he has a 100% tackle percentage and has won a ton of tackles at 11. Sydney Ramirez will come along too because they lead the entire league in tackles won so they have to be good with that kind of volume. Sator Freddy and George Costanza will round out the defensive side since they are at the top of the league in interceptions. I'm hoping that my combo of tackles won and interceptions will allow us to hold the line while our goal scorers do their thing. Oliver Kahn't Stop Shots will be the team's goalkeeper because they have the league's best save percentage so that makes sense to me to grab them.

Overall I wouldn't make them play any really tight formation. Defenders hang back a bit and everyone else go wild!
