Azpilicueta Hangs Up the Boots
#1
It is with a bittersweet feelings that I announce the retirement of Connor Azpilicueta. It's been such a great ride with this player, and I've had a ton of fun! I wanted to walk through his career a bit without drawing this out TOO much.

-Started career as a CB (would play there for two seasons)
-Drafted by Inter London (thanks @frazzle14!)
-Inter London's first ever captain
-Azpi states that he intends to position swap to striker
-Free agent frenzy has Azpi nearly sign with Catalunya, friendship with @[omniscious] begins //files.jcink.net/html/emoticons/smile.gif
-@thevoicelesscreatortakes over as manager, offers Azpi the BAG, making him the highest paid player in the league with a $7M per season max contract
-TVC's immense build help and guidance builds Azpi into a formidable striker, one of the best in the league
-Inter London wins their first ever league title!
-Seeing a management opening in Cairo City and loving the league (as well as being a glutton for punishment in obtaining sim league jobs), G2019 considers applies for the management position when he is told they have no applicants

-G2019 gets the manager position in Cairo, Azpilicueta is traded to Cairo in a blockbuster trade, but one that allows friend and club legend Franco Torres to stay with the club
-Cairo City goes from the bottom of the league to avoiding relegation in back to back seasons and making some very respectable cup runs
-Azpilicueta is named to the Team of the Season for S3 and S4
-Azpi nearly wins the Golden Boot, falling one goal short of Owen Forty-Four
-Azpi maximizes flexibility, often lining up at one of the attacking midfield positions and expanding his game beyond just scoring
-G2019 sees another management position open with a large rebuilding project for Sydney City...finds there are again no candidates

https://files.jcink.net/uploads2/simsoccer/teamEmotes/SYD.png https://files.jcink.net/uploads2/simsoccer/teamEmotes/SYD.png https://files.jcink.net/uploads2/simsoccer/teamEmotes/SYD.png
-G2019 gets the Sydney manager position
-Azpilicueta is traded to Sydney
-Sydney plays well at the beginning of the season and is able to bring in a great young core to move forward with

And that brings us to today. With Azpi's window not matching that of the team, I feel like a recreate will better help the team moving forward, so here we are. Recreate incoming!

I'd be remiss to not shoutout a ton of folks in this post, but the tagging system on this site sucks so not gonna tag, just gonna shout //files.jcink.net/html/emoticons/wink.gif This is certainly not an all-inclusive list, so I apologize if you aren't named //files.jcink.net/html/emoticons/smile.gif

I'd like to think goalkeepers are sleeping a bit better this evening knowing Dave is no longer here to threaten their goal.
