Furious Chicken part 1: Before the draft
#1
Finally, after a long time waiting the day had come, today would be the draft. In the past week Chicken got his stuff packed ready for his move to whichever team would pick him during the draft, because no matter which team it was, a move was in order. During the past few days there had been talks with different managers, and even some of the other talents who would take part in the draft. From these talks Chicken knew that in this league there were a lot of highly talented attacking players, and it would be difficult to really get his breakthrough. Because of these there was a hope to be picked up by a team in division 2, which with the recent expansion teams being announced now also had 8 teams and most likely actual playing opportunity, which Chicken saw as important for the future of his career.

But in the end no matter which team would eventually pick him deep inside Chicken knew that all of these teams were great teams in their own right, you had teams from literally all around the world (apart from oceania) from the Asian cities of Laos and Seoul to the cold volcanoes in Iceland. One thing that was for sure was that Chicken would need to get used to flying, a lot of flying, and a lot of long distanced flights. Even if he would get signed for local division 2 team AS Paris (or at least the team that could be called the most local) he would need to be ready for around 50 hours of flying for around 46.000 kilometers (around 28.500 miles), and that was excluding the cup games, and even then, AS Paris was in a location that meant the flying distances where shorter than most other teams would have to do. Just imagining the 8.400 kilometers (around 5.200 miles) over 9-hour flight from South Korea to Iceland right before a match, I guess doing a fitness training in the airplane might be a possibility for the longer flights.

But let’s first await the draft and see which team will actually pick up a giant angry flightless bird to play up front.

Don't worry about Travel if you get drafted to AS paris. Everything is done in the Imperial style in the most cosmopolitan city on the globe. A private jet for the team is the least that should be expected in paris but you will see that the team goes above and beyond even that. The team travels aboard "Marengo", a converted Airbus A380. It has a floor dedicated to sleeping but a whole nother floor dedicated to "activities". A short foosball field is next to a full french kitchen and is next to a couple of jacuzzis as well as a few hot tub-cold tub pairs. There is even an entire suite for editing and analyzing game tape while you're in the air. An Airbus-A380 is a massive jet but is also the most efficient way to travel for an SSL team. With the rapid and lengthy travel requirements, an SSL club needs to bring all its gear and equipment necessary with it on the road and having everything come with the team, while being set up just as the team needs creates a unique advantage for AS paris. The thing needs mantience and upkeep but being able to schedule it and the low amount of actual year trips means that it can be well assured to be kept in working order year round.
