Erik Beermann flourishes in SSL Academy
#1
Münchner Merkur

As the academy season slowly comes to an end, and with the draft looming in the near future Freising born midfielder Erik Beermann is looking forward to the end of the season. After needing a bit of time to settle into both the team and his slightly different role, Beermann quickly found the success he's had in the youth teams of SpVgG Unterhaching. As the season went on, Beermann was slowly put back into the role he had known more from his time before joining the SSL Academy - being the traditional holding midfielder.

Leading the League in both tackles attempted and tackles completed, Beermann has been a nuisance for many opponents in the 13 games played so far. The German midfielder has found himself as somewhat of a key player for Stockholm IK with the most successful passes on the team, bringing much needed stability to the midfield and opening up the attack with short and simple passes.

While not having added his name to the list of scorers yet, he has quickly established himself in the SSL Academy with an aggressive nature when it comes to defending, having been taught early by his youth coaches back in Bavaria that he either has to hit the ball or the player, getting neither would be considered a failed tackle. In the last few games Beermann will be looking at finishing the season on a good note, adding a few more good performances to his resume before the SSL teams will have to decide on whether or not he'll be a wise choice in the upcoming draft.
