Major Matchday 7 Recap
#1
CA Buenos Aires 7 – 0 Sao Paulo
[Image: image.png]

Player of the Match: Edwin van der Sloth
Many excellent performances from Buenos Aires, including 4 goals from Jake Bradford. But the nod for player of the match goes to Edwin van der Sloth. Filling up the stat sheet with a goal, assist, and 2 clear chances created. Not pictured here, 5 key passes and 6 dribbles for the right side attacker.

Key Moment:
Henrik Lind gets his first goal of the season in the 36th minute with a header off of corner service from David Brukspatron. If you are going to rout a team, best get everyone involved including the center backs.

Reykjavik U 1 – 2 Tokyo SC

Player of the Match: Shinji Kaido
Winning on the road, despite losing possession, shots on target, and the xG battle will require some fantastic individual performances. Shinji Kaido earns player of the match for their opening score. Off a long ball from the keeper in the 30th minute, Ibruhimovic takes the ball down and feeds it to Kaido who finds the net beautifully.

Key Moment:
Within five minutes of a Reykjavik shot that hits the crossbar, a Kennedy interception in the 60th minute creates a chance off a fabulous cross by Greer. Sky Ryze rises to the occasion taking the header strongly to give Tokyo a 2 goal lead. At this point in the match the two teams were quite equally poised with Tokyo actually ahead in possession 58% to 42%. The two goal lead allowed them to play more defensively and secure the road win.

Hollywood FC 5 – 1 AC Romana

Player of the Match: Pete Martell
There was an argument to be had for player of the match in the first two games, not so here. Pete Martell scores a hat trick along with creating 4 clear chances from his attacking midfield position. Throughout the match he put on a passing clinic with 5 key passes over his 34 passing attempts and a 91% pass completion rate.

Key Moment:
Tied one all late in the first half Dexter Hall saves a tepid penalty shot from Anivierre. The defensive corps continued to stay solid facing a number of set pieces as the half drew to an end. Keeping the score level at this point opened the floodgates early in the second half when Hollywood pulled away with the game.

Schwarzwalder FV 5 – 1 CF Catalunya

Player of the Match: Kimi Hakkinen
A complete performance from the attacking midfielder: 2 goals, an assist, 2 clear chances created in the 15.4 km they covered they managed to secure 2 interceptions and contribute 2 dribbles. Relative to the other brace scorer Wing Zhihao, they were more efficient with 3 of their 4 shots on target including the 2 that found the net.

Key Moment:
In the 10th minute Schwarzwalder scored their second goal. It was a team effort that started with a switch of the side of play by Whittington. A pair of passes from Pederson to Maximilliano and then to Hakkinen sliced open the Catalunya defense setting up the final assist to Heather Bull, running on to the ball hard to knock it home. The tone was set early and largely stayed on the side of Schwarzwalder throughout the remainder of the game.
