VFE Redemption; Sydney Crumbles
#1
After my initial game with Victoria Falls was an utter disappointment, we bounced back the following match day to take down the top team in the league! The overrated Sydney City squad clearly overlooked the mighty Eagles. The hometown crowd clearly played an impact as fans from Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana all united to root on the Eagles. There was some nervousness among the players as their last showing was a five to nil blowout. Both teams attempted multiple attacks with no success including a shot by Sydney, in the 17th minute, that went off the goal post. The Roos got on the board first with North’s own Hohenham burying the ball into the net with a pisser of a shot. The Eagles got on the board themselves soon after as a poorly played ball back to the defender was over hit allowing Lemonoppy’s Colapinto to draw the Eagles even. Ten minutes later it was Colapinto again this time with the header as Victoria Falls took their first lead since Chopper joined the team. Cohen was the next one to score as the Eagles extended their lead to two. Colapinto secured the hat trick at the start of the second half and the game rolled on from there as VFE took the win 5-2 after both teams scored an additional goal.
