Academy Task 5: Storied Life of Linnea Nesse
#1
I'm going to explore the career of my previous player, Linnea Nesse, as I wasn't as into following her games and seasons towards the end of her career. I'm excited to look at her achievements and see how I can surpass those with my new player. The indexes aren't working for me, so it will be more of a narrative than stats-based, my apologies.

Created in S1, Linnea Nesse was originally a striker modeled after one of my favorite players, Lionel Messi. There was a glut of forwards and strikers, so when asked if she could be changed to more easily fit a team's needs, the change was made. I'm always super happy to change a player in whatever way is needed, so I reworked her. She started her career with Inter-London and had a great time there. Several different GMs changed hands with the team, and she usually had playing time and did pretty well. After a few seasons where I lost touch with her, she hit FA and instead of resigning with Inter-London, I put her on the marker.

It was the first and last time I'll do FA for any player. Sim leagues lend themselves more easily to some aspects of sports, but signing is not one of them. When all the money is fake, it's really just looking at which teams have the most people I'd have fun with. So for me, FA ended with signing for Sydney. Linnea Nesse's time with Sydney was fun - they were a very engaged and strong team. She did end up sitting for some games so that all the players could get a turn on the pitch, and she won a cup with the team. They dissolved after a few seasons, and with the help of the BoD was signed to Tokyo.

Tokyo was another strong team, and Linnea (I hope!) lent herself to be an easy player to use. She saw pitch time, but after a few seasons was moved down to the minors affiliate, Paris. Here, we get into the twilight of Linnea's career. She didn't see the majors after that, and kept up a strong veteran presence in the minors helping the new players train. I lost touch with her for a bit, and it looks like she also spent some time with Cairo city. She retired quietly after a long and storied career to head back to her home country of Norway and live a modest life with her family.

Linnea did manage to crack some of the leaderboards. She holds the record for most Key Passes at 1075, with Gerold Gerrard behind her at 982. Since there's a bit of a gap, I'm hoping she can manage to hold that record for a bit longer, but it is exciting to see players surpass records. If someone can give her a run for her money, that would be awesome! Elsewhere on the leaderboards, she holds 5th in Distance Run (km) at 4214.3, 6th in Chances Created at 212, 6th in Tackles Won at 584, 11th in Interceptions at 884, and tied for 6th in Yellow Cards at 48.

In summary, Linnea Nesse was a player who trained hard to work for her team, and created chances. She wasn't afraid to get her hands and shin guards dirty, and had the stamina of a woman who was there for the long haul. I hope she'll be remembered for her achievements throughout the league's life, and I know I'm grateful for her accomplishments and will remember her fondly.
