Academy task 5 - The crossing paths of future stars Patterson, Foster and Tut
#1
Following a goal scoring debut in the defeat to Atlético, we take a deeper look into the start of Dom Patterson’s career, as well as a few familiar faces along the way.

Starting off at the infamous Tyneside juniors alongside opposition Port Royal FC’s young gun Jonny Foster, the former RB was on the opposite side to LB Foster to begin with.

Patterson and Foster were integral members to Liverpool University’s league winning management team, continuing their goal scoring exploits from opposite wings in the process.

The friendship continued and they graduated to the Coca Cola Kids, where they teamed up with enforcer Tonto Tut. The mix of Foster’s Cruyff turns, Patterson’s hungover goalscoring exploits and Tut’s toe pegs led to success within the tricky Eldon Square league.

More recently it is Tut and Patterson who have joined forces for the mighty Jakarta, with Tut an all rounder known for his no nonsense tackling, silky passing and powerful long shots. He will hope to turn provider for Patterson who is known for playing off the shoulder of the last defender with rapid pace, cool composure and lethal finishing.

The first game was disappointing from a team point of view, but Patterson and Tut were shining lights on their debuts with a goal from the former, and Tut expertly running the centre of the park single handedly at times. They will hope that in games to come the switch in tactics will provide a more balanced team and better results to come.

All three players will be looking forward to when Jakarta and Port Royal clash in the upcoming fixtures. Foster is known for his lung busting runs down the wing, and being an all round team player. After seeing a similar disappointing opening day defeat, all eyes will be on the rivalry unfolding between former teammates, and hopefully some more fantastic performances from the future stars. Three of our “Ones to watch” in the academy league.
