A Week in the Life - Delvecchio, Week 3
#1
“What a way for Week 3 to start! In what should have been a close fought batch between two of the top Academy teams, Delvecchio and SIK came out on top with a lopsided 4-0 victory over Istanbul. The action started hot as Delvecchio buried 2 into the back of the net within the first 15 minutes of the goal, and then was followed up by fellow Attacker Niklas Jorgensen with 2 goals in the 2nd half. Delvecchio and Jorgensen ended the day with match ratings of 8.9 and 9.1, respectively, which capped off a wild upswing in quality time between these two rising stars in just the early part of the season. Just an all around dominant performance from one of the Academy’s hottest teams” - the voices hung in the air as Delvecchio turned the Television off laid back on his couch.

It had been a grueling start to the season, but this most recent game had finally been the turn he had been waiting for. Not that he was unaccustomed to cold streaks, but being held scoreless AND assist less for 2 straight games was an unfamiliar feeling for Tony. It was a far cry from his Backyard League days where he was the main focal part of the teams, goal after goal after goal. But, this felt good and after a game like that, against a team like that, Tony felt he deserved 10 minutes of respite before getting back out on the pitch with his team for training. These first few weeks had been intense, but it was clear that the work being put in by Tony, and everyone else, was clearly paying off. Off to a 3-0-0 start, completely dominant performances by the entire team in 2 of those 3 games, and it in these thoughts that Tony realized that the sky truly was the limit, so long as he and the team continued to work together and put each other first.
