Day in the life - Jimotheus
#1
I remember sitting in the locker room after the Stockholm game. I was the last one out after that dismantling and despite all my best efforts there was nothing I could do, I felt powerless against them. We were defeated handily, and the sting of that loss never really goes away. The feelings stirring in my mind of despair and anguish but above all of those was contempt, how could I have let myself fallen so low as to be inconsequential in one of the most important games of the season. I steeled my resolve and I swore we will never be humiliated in such a disrespectful manner again.

So come today and our meeting with Jakarta, We were prepared, Isolated their weak point, recognised the hole in their game and exploited and pushed everything we had on that right side. After the sixth goal I was convinced Dohbra was getting tired of scoring, but deep down I know that the sting of failure resonated deeply within him too, so I kept feeding him opportunities, to him and the rest of the team, attacking their net with every fibre of our being until our point was clear! Not one more loss.

Come the end of the game, some of the lads were saying perhaps we were too hard on them and that perhaps we should have laid off them, allowed them an opportunity to build their confidence. Are they mad? In my opinion we were too soft, they were laughing at us! Calling us frauds! We had a point to prove and an example to make and as far as I am concerned we didn't do enough to make our statement clear enough! There is no place for mercy in this game, no place for the "spirit of the game", there is only the victory at the end of the day and there is no cost too high to obtain it! I hate losing, and I hate losing more than I want to win, and trust me when I say there is a difference.

I left the locker room feeling a weight off my shoulders, that game had been the catharsis that I needed to recover my confidence. Onwards now to Port Royal who will have been watching our game closely to identify our weaknesses. Then come Port Royal, show us what passes for skill amongst your team and we will respond in kind.
