For almost 30 minutes, both sides hammered away at each other, neither side being able to pierce the other’s defense. In an unfortunate turn of events, before the half ended, an own goal was scored against São Paulo by Ryan Kirkpatrick.

For the rest of the 2nd half, the game hung in the balance as both sides were equally fierce with their offense and defense. In the 94th minute with 1 minute to go, an unforgettable last minute goal was scored by De Groot to finish the game off 4-3. Being named player of the match, Nerve has certainly left an impression, giving São Paulo another victory to maintain their lead.
