For the first time in my already illustrious career I have been out smarted. I was out gunned, out manned, I did in fact throw away my shot. Despite listening to the Hamilton original Broadway cast recording on repeat for the last two weeks straight, I still managed to throw away my shot.
How did it end up like this? It was only a pick.
Only a pick.
My loyalty has been secured by Club Atlético Buenos Aires, and its minor affiliate Athênai Football Club with a simple third round pick. The schemes that I had been planning as contingencies if I had gotten picked up by any other organization are all postponed for the foreseeable future as I settle in to my new accomodations.
Then I was thoroughly thrown for a loop when it was revealed by the stinky organizational manager that I have been elected as a captain for Athênai.
How could do they do this?
How could they place all this responsibility upon one dinosaur that is still getting the grips of how to play this damned sport? Do they know nothing about my past? My record? My criminal proclivities?
Or is it perhaps...that they do not care? That they only see the dinosaur wearing the shirt, rather than my history?
