GRADED: Pablo's Minor League Season Predictions
#1
He already rambles a lot in the commentating booth, but Pablo will now provide his thoughts for the upcoming season in the Minor Leagues. With the Major Leagues likely to have majority of the attention, it is quite intriguing to see what will happen in the minor leagues after the incredible draft that was the S20 prospects.
Here is how Pablo thinks the Minors will finish out!
Tough one to call for the top of the table, but Pablo is thinking that Kaapstad will unseat Montreal this season, but this is one that will come down to the final week of the season. With very similar averages in the minors with Kaapstad slightly ahead (888 vs 857), I love the additions in the midfield that Kaapstad was able to add with this draft, and with of course a strong midfield/defensive core. Where Kaapstad will lack is in the attacking parts, but once they do get the goals, they will be tough to breakdown. Montreal currently has one of the top goalkeepers in the minors, and will definitely be using Skovgaard in front to try and hold the door. Where I think Kaapstad has the difference is in that midfield.
I think we will have a gap but have a nice three way battle afterwards with North Shore, Sao Paulo, and Athenai battling it out there. Currently have Sao Paulo claiming that 3rd spot just with that little bit of extra experience, but it’s a close call between them and North Shore with averages for all three teams to be in the 700s. Athenai despite a higher average don’t have the strongest of backlines compared to these other two squads, so that could put themselves in a battle with the next two teams being Krung United and Seoul. Seoul is on that rebuilding position, but definitely have a strong core throughout the squad to grow that team up quickly. They will be tricky. Krung United got themselves some of the top academy players, so it will be a fact to see how quickly they can grow!
Inter London, Magyar, and Cairo I see following up in the back of the table. If there is one team I could see surprising myself it would be the London squad, but the other two squads will definitely be in some rebuilding phases this season, looking to see who could possibly tank to get that top choice in the S21 draft. I currently have London, ahead of Magyar, ahead of Cairo on the table, but with formations upcoming of players who play FM a lot. I see these teams finding ways to sneak out some crucial points here and there to get them up the table.
So at the end of the day, I expect a clear top two, with a fun middle pack, and a bit of a gap towards the bottom couple of clubs, but if there is going to be a season of surprises, this could be the one for all teams.
