Owain Roberts was born in August 1990 and grew up on the mean streets of North Wales. Coming up through the ranks he eventually signed for Sydney FC this season. He was approached by fellow SSL players Jonny Elliot and Dom Patterson, players who Roberts has a long term playing relationship with and will hope to rekindle some of the football played in their younger days later in his career.
Playing as a left winger predominantly with a tendency to cut in and shoot, he is equally adept on the opposite wing. Beginning his career as predominantly one footed, he will be looking to develop his right peg as quickly as possible to add some unpredictability down the wing.
He will be hoping to prove himself worthy in the Sydney ranks this season, chipping in with a few goals and assists. A solid start to the season has seen performances over 7.0 in each of the two games, will an assist coming in the latter.
As a veteran of the football manager series, he will hope to impart some of the knowledge of the game over the coming seasons, helping the team tactically in order to hopefully make a charge for the league title.
