Clarification on the Personal Conduct Policy

Personal Conduct Policy

The Personal Conduct Policy is the first and most important part of the Rulebook that all users in the league is expected to follow in order to provide a safe space for all of its members. The BoD has now clarified what specifically we expect from our users and what the repercussions for failing to meet those expectations can be.

1. Personal Conduct Policy
a. The SSL Commissioner(s) and/or Board of Directors (BoD) reserve the right to enforce punishments and suspensions for personal attacks against other users and/or their player, cheating, breaking rules defined in this Rulebook, and any other action deemed detrimental to the league.

a.i  An enforcement can be taken based on actions made on, including but not limited to, the league forum, SSL-related Discord servers and in private messages to league users.

b. Personal attacks and conduct violations are defined as language or rhetoric that includes hate speech (including but not limited to racism, homophobia, ableism) or belittle members of a certain religious, ethnic or oppressed group, harmful or abusive language towards another user and/or their player, graphic descriptions of violent actions, harassment, excessive or malicious trolling, and spamming.

c. Cheating includes but is not limited to stealing money and/or TPE, creating multiple users (known as "multis") with their own player, and multiple attempts at misusing the rules for an individual gain.

d. A user may not post private or sensitive information, e.g. team trade blocks, war room information, report logs, league job information etc., that is not intended for public view.

We want to direct your attention to the clarification of conduct violations. The league does not condone any graphic descriptions of violent actions and will also enforce the policy on users harassing or otherwise excessively or maliciously trolling.

a. Any user in breach of the Personal Conduct Policy will incur the following punishments:
i. First Offense - 2 week posting ban, Discord suspension, and a 5 game player suspension.
ii. Second offense - 1 month posting ban, Discord suspension, and a 10 game player suspension.
iii. Third offense - Permanent ban from the league.

b. The BoD reserves the right to enforce harsher punishments based on the severity of the individual case.

The punishment guidelines for users breaking the conduct policy is also clarified but as stated, the BoD reserves the right to issue harsher punishments when needed.
