ARCHIVED: [DELAYED] Expansion Managers
#1
Organizational Manager for Expansion Organization

As announced here, the SSL is once more looking at the feasibility of another expansion in the near future. The first step is to open the call for expansion managers. If you are interested in applying for an Organizational Manager (OM) position for one of the new organizations, please read this post in its entirety. Make sure that you have talked to your current Organizational Manager of your interest at applying for this role and received approval before sending in your application.

What is an organizational manager?
An OM is responsible for leading an organization consisting of two affiliates, a Major and Minor League roster of between 11 to 14 players. An OM may hire up to two (2) Assistant Managers (AM) that together will create the organization’s manager group to divide the responsibilities and workload among them. An OM may also hire one (1) Tactician whose sole responsibility is submitting tactics for at least one of the teams and may help with tactical discussions for the organization. The OM is the main point of contact for the organization.

The responsibilities include:
  • submit tactics for games
  • maintain an active locker room
  • keep up to date with league rules
  • keep track of organizational players and draft assets

What is the pay?
The job pay is a weekly PT pass + $3.5 million seasonal pay.

Application Procedure
As part of this application procedure you will be asked where you would like to locate the Major (and/or Minor) team. As the SSL is a world-wide league and football is a world-wide sport we have continuously worked on spreading out the organizations to different areas of the world. The image below shows the current placement of the Major and Minor teams and areas with large population centers or a known football culture that currently is lacking representation will be favored by the BoD.

Other things you would like to add:

Send in your application to me (Canadice) on the forum or Discord, or any other BoD member. Make sure that you have talked to your current Organizational Manager of your interest at applying for this role and received approval before sending in your application.

The expansion process starts with the BoD assessing the submitted applications after the deadline. After appointing two applicants, the OM and BoD will discuss the placement of the teams based on the initial application. The detailed branding (full name and logo) will be worked on together with the BoD and graphics people, so it is not necessary to have completed brandings as part of the application.

The deadline for applications is Sunday May 11th at midnight Pacific (Forum Clock).

- What experience do you have that would be beneficial for the role?
Dungeon master of multiple campaign, in real life I'm extremely great in teamwork.

- What would be your short and long term plans for the organization?
For short term, it would be to create a core of the organisation, both Minor and Major. Recruiting talents to create a good team synergy. I don't mind if our first couple of matches or even season are not successful, as long as we nurture players to be the best version of themself they imagine. I believe a good club, need a good core of player who know their teammate, it takes time to achieve that.

For long term plans, I would like that our teams are regarded as a "Wild Card". We want to stand out while using unorthodox strategies. We also want to let the player express themselves, experiment with tactic and playstyle unique to the group of talent we would have in the roste. I can resume the vision I have with 3 words: Freedom, Future, Innovation. Philosophy like Ginga is something I hold dear to my art for players and the sports itself as I often think that it got too much commercialized.

- What kind of community culture do you hope to build?
A bit like the previous point, I'd like to cultivate a positive, safe and fun space for our players and staff. Expansions can be harsh on everyone and I really want to let everyone take their mark before we achieve greatness, however if we do achieve success early on, it is a enormous bonus mentally for everyone in the organisation.

- How will you engage new users and build the community?
I'll always encourage and welcome new users, a new arrivant in the SSL myself, the thing that really made me feel like I'll have a good time was the welcoming energy and seeing other players on my academy team being hype for our matches.

- How would you resolve any potential conflict that can arise within the community?
Voice chat or messages but we need to solve this out by talking. If players aren't happy with their role, have an issue with another teammate or staff with the clubs, we need to have the people concerned and have a open discussion about it. Else it would be to go directly to the SSL Staff if it escalate too quickly.

- What would you say makes a good sim league manager?
Love to do research, love to attempt strategies, even though I am not a master manager in FM I have 200+ hours and still loving it, I am easy to talk to, open for discussion, I can admit my wrongs if I did a mistake while organizing the clubs.

- Is there someone specifically you look up to as a sim league manager and why?
I don't know each of them specifically to say that I look up to someone but I've discussed with Divogo Jota and they were super cool with me.

- Are there any obligations in your life or in sim leagues that we should be aware of that may limit your time or availability?
Possible time zone differences with other members of the servers, taking care of my family, 8 to 5 job during the week.

Do you have any letters of recommendations for your applications?
Unfortunately I do not have any letter of recommendations.

Other things you would like to add:
As of now I really enjoy my time on the league, I'm shooting my shot with this role proposition but I wouldn't be in any negative mood if I wouldn't be picked for the job.
