State of the League

And I said last off-season was the most hectic in a while... Anyways, we are now back on track and ready to start up the 21st season of the SSL!

Due to the issues that arose we have implemented a captcha system on the forum. This captcha is not one that you answer prompts but checks your behavior to determine if you are a bot or not. If you are encountering issues with logging into the forum, please try and:

Refresh the login page.
Manually enter your generated password instead of copying it.
Wait a while with the tab opened
Try to take your time to log in and not do it as fast as possible.

With a new season also comes some new rule changes that we announced in previous SotL. We have also adapted some changes to the Bounty system that will be detailed below.

Rule Reminders

This season marks the start of uncapping earnings from jobs and bounties. You will now be able to earn as much as you complete from either of these sources.

The consequence of this is that we have limited the amount of TPE purchase from the player store to a maximum of 18 TPE per season. You are also able to purchase the amount of TPE you can afford for $425 000 per TPE compared to a full package. This means that you can divide your purchases throughout the season whenever you can afford it.

Players that are regressing beyond their third regression will also have their max attribute value for physical attributes (except Natural Fitness and Stamina) reduced by one for every subsequent regression. This will not be adjusted when regression is run in the portal but needs to be taken into account in the regression update each user submits in the Portal. If all is well within the code, you should be limited accordingly for these attributes. For example, a player will after their third regression (11th season) be allowed a max of 19 in their physical attributes.

Bounties

Some big changes are happening to the bounties this season. First and foremost, we are creating a separate department responsible for grading the submissions and will have a job post out soon looking for graders. Second, we are removing the theme limitations for each of the bounty categories and changing the grading and payout scales:

PODCAST

Paid at $50,000 per minute with the following conditions:

Minimum length: 15 minutes

Maximum paid length: 60 minutes

Up to four contributors can receive payment per podcast.

A more detailed post will be up in the Bounty subforum later this week when the bounties officially open for the season. The goal of this change is to open up more creative freedom (the bounties must still be SSL related in some capacity) while also normalizing the payout between the different categories based on their presumed workload difference.

Expansion?

As we detailed here, we are still working on the details about the future that unfortunately was set back a bit in the past couple of weeks. We have also seen a reduced number of active users due to the incident and will evaluate its effect on the plans. We hope to have more information to you in the coming weeks.

Minor Addendum

The BoD has voted to add a rule in regards to the Prospect Draft where undrafted prospect players are able to be signed to a team for a fixed transfer value. The formal addendum is as follows:

Addendum c

A player that has not been drafted in their first eligible Prospect Draft is able to be signed to an organization for a fixed transfer value of $20 million up until Week 8 of the draft class season. Example: S21 players may be signed in this way up until Week 8 of the S21 season.
