After his trajectory appeared to be pointing upwards, Montreal United midfielder Cameron Millwall apparently has hit a road block in his third professional season. He has appeared in six out of seven possible minor league games for the United, but his playing quality has taken an apparent hit as he only registers a 6.9 average rating thus far. It's a nose dive from last season, where he posted an average rating above 7. He managed to set up one assist for a teammate so far, which has been his only goal contribution of the season up until this point. His passing percentage (256-for-295 for a .868 percentage) is another category that has taken a dip. His aerial performance is pretty much abysmal, having won just 11 of his 31 duels up in the air.
"I will do whatever my team needs from me, basically," Millwall said after the cup game against F.C. Kaapstad. "Right now, it seems like they need me rather to plug holes in the lineup. That's fine by me. I once dreamt of being more of a central midfielder rather than a centerback, but it is what it is. Nothing you can do about it. It's all about adapting and staying ready. Ultimately, what's best for my team is best for me."
