So I found a website that lets me look at the fit for a given set of attributes in every one of the available roles (in FM20, not FM24, but still), and it’s definitely interesting to see what kind of player I’ve really built this early into my career.
The first thing I notice, which I’m happy to see, is that my best two roles are Defensive Midfielder (Defend) and Defensive Midfielder (Support). Seeing as I’ve been working on DM (Support) so far, that means I can follow the color-coded attribute guide on the Portal.
Up there are well, honestly not far behind are roles like Full-Back (Defend), Anchor Man (Defend), Carrilero (Support) and Central Midfielder (Defend). Seems like I’m managed to make a player that is most effective defending the central third of the field, and has some ability to support the offense after the fact.
Finally, and just for fun, my least applicable roles include Inside Forward (Attack), Winger (Attack), and Inside Forward (Support). Turns out that not investing in any shooting attributes may limit my ability to be an effective attacker. I do have Attacking Midfielder as a secondary position at the moment, but it seems I’ll need a lot more TPE before I can naturally play that role in game.
