After a great draft where Liffeyside picked up five top academy players; Rean Schwarzer, Matt Turk, Kaspar Kalinins, Jay Cue Jr, Robbie Schuurmans, Aren Fjord and Thomas Schwarte rumours are starting to swirl around the team.
The coach of Liffeyside picked up his players based on their flexibility in their roles and their ability to perform in multiple positions.
Sources close to the team are telling us that one of the players that will, probably, be played in a different position is Thomas Schwarte.
Thomas made a great impression in his academy season with most key passes given and most succesful crosses. However the team of Liffeyside is, most likely, going to ask something different for him.
Which position Thomas will be played in remains to be seen however it is looking like Thomas will be asked to be played in a Left Back role instead of the Left Wing Back role he played on the academy side of Port Royal.
What this means for Thomas is that he will probably be asked to stay back a bit more and focus more on his defending abilities instead of his offensive abilities.
The trainer will be asking more of Thomas in terms of his agility and pace instead of his crossing ability like he used in the past.
Right now it seems that Thomas will not be breaking into the main squad of Liffeyside but he will be playing on CS Rova Mpanjaka.
It is looking like Rova will be playing in a 4-4-2 for the first part of the season, however we won't know until the first kick-off.
The first kick-off will be played on saturday 08-november for the academy teams. Before that we will have two friendly matches in which we will probably see the contours for this seasons line-up.
