Nothing More, Nothing Less

It’s always funny to try and sit down to write about a commentary only game. Don’t get me wrong, I’m used to formulating thoughts on multi-game averages, boxscores, and even pre-sim attributes, but somehow, having the visual of the simulation up, but absolutely nothing to work with for my player visually brings forth a new type of challenge.

FM24 has suggested that I was one of my team’s best players in our game against Paris, however I’m not sure I ever locked onto my player on the field, even in the plentiful offside reviews in the second half. I didn’t get to witness my couple of headers, or really even any of my successful or unsuccessful passes. Not my foul, nor my legal tackles. I watched the sim, and yet somehow, I come out with nothing more than if I had simply looked at the boxscore at the end, which I ended up doing anyways. It’s no shame to commentary only games, they’re a necessary evil, and it is still nice to see the replays of those key events that do happen, but when you aren’t even remotely close to a part of any of them, it can be hard to come up with any sort of narrative to justify your moderately respectful rating at the end of it all.

I guess sometimes you get a decent mark for meeting expectations and nothing more, nothing less.

It's so hard to visualize something with only the logs 3/5
