Breaking Through the MacLeod Cover: Scott’s Standout Showing
#1
Seoul’s lone draftee, Scottish defender Scott MacLeod, had endured a challenging introduction to the minor leagues, with a series of largely unremarkable performances raising quiet questions about how quickly he could adapt to the new environment. The step up from the academy was seeming to be too much for the defender until this week when he was able to show the quality that caught attention during the draft.

However this week marked a turning point. Stepping onto the pitch against Krung Thep FC, MacLeod put in the kind of performance that reminded everyone of what he is capable of. From kick off he imposed himself on the match, unrelenting until Seoul could add their second clean sheet of the season.

While MacLeod’s impact was rooted in the growing chemistry with fellow center halves Bot and Primarus. Joining an established defensive unit is never easy, but it was only exacerbated by the fact this was MacLeod’s first season at the back. It seems to have finally clicked between the trio however and it has allowed MacLeod to play with much more confidence.

MacLeod’s performance showed a growing comfort within the squad and his new role in it. Earning his first Man of the Match marks an important step up for the young defender, one which his coaches will hope to see him build upon in the coming weeks as the chemistry between the defence improves. For now the young man must keep the heid and try to set and maintain a new standard.
