This theme week, everyone is presenting their own ideas of a possible team, theme and location for an SSL expansion.

I'm here today to rate some of the early ideas that have been submitted.

Carribean FA

Based out of Tortuga, @High Stick King is proposing a team spanning more than just the island. Trying to steer away from political names, and abbrevations that could cause confusion with other SSL franchises, he arrives at a classic British name: Caribbean Footbal Association.

The bright, vibrant colours proposed fit the Carribean theme very well, and in my opinion they should be aiming to play a Brazilian-esque, Samba-style type of football. The island itself could definitely pull some big names.

Chicago Metropolitan

@jackkmart wants to bring the SSL expansion into the US city of Chicago. The Chicago Metropolitan Athletic Club will be based on Chicago's intriguing history with the mob.

Steering away from the classic Chicago colours, the large amount of Chicago blue in the colour scheme for the logo proposed for the CMAC feels very friendly. Maybe a little too friendly for the theme. The home kit is based on the darker Metro blue center of the logo, which looks a lot meaner.

Borussia Dhaka

@Aleris noted that the SSL is currently lacking teams in a few of the top 10 largest cities in the world. While they could've gone for major Indian or Chinese cities, the choice fell on a little more obscure lcoation: Bangladesh. The city of Dhaka has more inhabitants than the entire country of the Netherlands, and I'm sure a club in South East Asia would have some pull on people from surrounding countries as well.

The tiger as mascot, and the green/red colour scheme based on the country's colours make sense. Although I would've liked to see the tiger represented in the team name as well. The German-sounding club name in SE Asia doesn't really work for me personally.
