Leif Physt has been settling into Catalunya quite well here just after both Matchday 12 in the SSL Season and the Quarter Finals being now over in the SSL Cup. CF Catalunya sits with a stunning 9-2-1 record, tied for 1st place with Tokyo SC and closing in fast.
For the stick of Danish Dynamite, Its been nothing short of a fantastic start to a career in the best International League ever to exist. Already he has made a name for himself in all of Spain as a staunch defender who rarely comes up short. In League play he has appeared in 6.5 games, or roughly half thus far. He has no goals or assists, but has managed to earn himself Player of The Match once. He only has 4 shots. He has completed nearly 600 passes and sports a 96% success rate in them, meaning he rarely makes a mistake with where he sends the ball. As a rookie that is massive. He has 10 Key headers and wins 89% of the aerial wars game in, game out. He has also never made a mistake that lead to a goal. For a rookie Central Defender that is huge.
Cup play has brought out arguably his best. Making 2.5 appearances out of the 4 games so far, he has looked stunning. A goal against Montreal United in his first ever App marks his only shot in the tournament so far. He maintains his passing percentage at 95% . Even has 4 Key Headers in spite of success falling to 79% for now. This is a kid who has risen to the occasion and makes many wonder how he was slept on for so many rounds.
His Best game and arguably the game that best displays the type of player he is right now, is the Matchday 5 Faceoff against AS Paris. Completing 64 of 71 passes in only his second appearance. Winning 14 out of the 15 Ariel bouts, 2 of which were Key in the Catalan side's 2-0 win over the newly founded French side. In addition his only tackle was clean and stopped a prime scoring chance. Solid in his own end with a real flair for nailing the headers out of Corners, Leif is only getting better, fast, stronger, and hungrier.
