Vive le France, but where else? The Finale
#1
The final teams take their place in my rankings tonight, and if you've followed along, you know who those teams are. These are the teams I would most want to be a part of, and actually really enjoy as teams, for one reason or another. There's not much suspense left, so I'll just get right into it.

3. Adowa Accra

I'm not really sure what the word "Adowa" is to be honest with you, but I definitely appreciate a team in Ghana. Historically, they've been a better country at the sport than the other two African countries represented in this league (South Africa and Egypt, although the latter hasn't necessarily been true during Mo Salah's career in particular). Ghana is the African country that's gotten the farthest in the World Cup - sure, it was a combination of a lucky bracket in front of them the year they got to the quarters, paired with Ivory Coast getting back to back group of deaths comprised of Argentina/Netherlands and Brazil/Portugal preventing them getting out, but they did it nonetheless, and nearly advanced to the semis over Uruguay as well had Asamoah Gyan not missed the penalty awarded for Suarez' handball. Ghana is a fantastic place to have an SSL team and I've become somewhat of a fan of Adowa Accra.

2. Inter London

Paris' "rivals" so to speak, so it might be surprising that I have London up here, but as with Accra, this is more of a real life thing than anything to do with the team itself. I'm a Chelsea fan. If you're going to put a blue team in London in a sim league, I'll always be drawn to it. The name and the shape and theme of the logo make a more obvious Inter Milan parallel, but it's a blue team, and it's in London. A team could do a lot worse than to compare to a two time Champions League winner.

1. AS Paris

Really, did you expect anything different? I'm on Paris, I love it here, wouldn't change it for the world. Steve's been great, the team's been great, no reason to want to change anything. Plus, if you want a real world connection here too, here's one that stems even deeper than soccer connections: my wife lived in Paris for 6 months on foreign exchange while she was in culinary school. They'd be first even without that, but with it, all doubt is removed. Paris is my team, and will be for as long as Steve will have me.
