Xavier Takes a Wrong Turn
#1
It was a brisk September day when Xavier Valorian found himself declaring for the next football draft. He had called his agent and told him to put his name on the list, which his agent did, and advised Xavier to be at the training facility around noon for a pre-draft workout.

He arrived in full gear: shoulder pads, helmet, and his lucky football. As he entered the pitch, it became abundantly obvious that he had misunderstood his agent when they had discussed playing football internationally. The pitch was teeming with other young men and women wearing colorful uniforms and with not a single football pad in sight. A quick call to his agent confirmed what he already knew: he had switched American football for real football.

He quickly found a locker room and changed out of his pads into a pair of spare shorts he had found in an abandoned locker. They were ill-fitting but would work for his purposes. Luckily, the cleats he had brought were similar enough to suffice so he was able to run out on the field to start warm-ups. While his experience with football was lacking, having only played in middle school, he trusted his quick wit to help him through.

The scouts were uninspired by his play, his inexperience paired with an incomplete uniform made it obvious to all spectators, but they still saw potential. He would be able to learn and adapt which was enough to get him in the S6 draft. Xavier sighed with relief, anxious to see where he would end up playing and if he would be going to an unknown country. He hoped that the fans would accept him, an American footballer posing as a traditional footballer, though knew that would be a hard road into their hearts. Still, the pay was good and the sport was fun. What is the worst that can happen?
