The Duck Is Broken
#1
After a long wait, an entire rookie season and a few more games with his newest teammates, Tata has finally broken his duck and entered his name on the scoresheet! He knew there would be an adjustment period for getting acquainted with this league and the pace of the game, but Tata did not think it would take him this long to produce some goals! But, for better or for worse, he has officially opened his account for Inter London. On match day 4, Inter London was matched up with the Seoul Mystic. In his rookie season, the Mystics had gotten the better of the London club on a couple occasions, so Tata was driven to make sure it didn't happen again. The first half of the game was a back and forth challenge, neither side yielding much. It took a moment of brilliance in the 64th minute to kick things into high gear. Papastathopolous played a gorgeous cross in to d'Floor who headed on goal and broke deadlock. The spirits around the ground lifted and the intensity swelled, urging London to probe forward immediately after. And so they did! In the 66th minute, London was able to pass around the shocked defenses with a number of quick passes from a throw in. Youre made a run in from the top of the box and the goalscorer, d'Floor, played a simple ball for Tata to run onto and smash into the side netting. The elation was clear and the relief was immense for the African-born player. They say you never forget your first, and that will likely he the case for Youre and this goal. The buildup was swift and beautiful; a bit of tiki taka from the midway line, resulting in a fantastic strike to add the brace to a game that had been a stalemate 3 minutes ago.
