Regression

This season marks the first in the league where players have to go through regression. During the preparation for the first regression post announcement, the BoD discussed some details that were not fleshed out to the extent it was needed. This announcement hopes to summarize what we have added to the Rulebook to clear some things up and inform about some practicalities of regression.

Career PTs

Career PTs are uncapped PTs that a player can complete throughout their first nine seasons in their career. Ever season a player may complete a new career PT but we have never previously said anything about a deadline for them to be completed. When discussing the rules and the coverage of the regressable TPE, the BoD came to the conclusion that in order to make the regression process as clear as possible for all involved parties, all Career PTs need to be completed before or during the regression as they will be part of the TPE that a player must regress in their update.

In practice this means that in order for a player to complete all nine career PTs, they must do so prior to their first regression. A player does not have to complete the PTs, but it is now added in the Rulebook that any player that has gone through their first regression may not complete Career PT#1 - #9 any longer. This is in line with all other regressable TPE, as any earning prior to the regression post every season will need to be claimed (and regressed) prior to or within the regression update or be lost for the player.

Regression Post and Deadlines

The Regression Post will contain a list of who is required to submit a regression update and what percentage of TPE that needs to be removed. There is a preliminary list available through the SSL Index. Note that this preliminary list only covers the TPE that a player has already claimed which might be fewer than the total regressable TPE as defined by the Regression Post.

The post is planned to be published by Tuesday of Week 9 at the latest. Any earnings prior to Week 9 is then considered regressable TPE with season predictions expected to be graded by Sunday of Week 8. Note that one season stretches for 9 weeks with Week 9 being the dedicated Off-Season week and the SSL Cup Final being the final matchday on Saturday of Week 8.

The deadline for submitting a regression update for affected players is Friday of Week 1. That gives two weekends for regression updates to be processed which hopefully spreads out the workload for updaters and gives ample time for players and/or managers to fulfill the requirements prior to this date.

I'm in the same boat, but we still got like 3 weeks to complete them all!
