Hello world, I'm Momo Week 78
#1
Good evening, my name is Mohammed Jibril Adamu, but you may call me Momo. I’m an academy player with SSL Blue this season. I am surprised to be here, but this is where life has taken me.

You may have heard of me before through my childhood friends—international media has been calling us “the Abuja Four,” on account of us growing up together in Abuja, Nigeria. Each of us has gone on to be professional athletes: M’Baku Olubori is a star for the SHL’s Baltimore Platoon, Chinyelu Sani played for the Detroit Generals and Columbus Cosmos in the WSBL, and Prentice Parsons (always the overachiever) has been a two-sport athlete with the ZCHL’s Toledo Mariners and the San Diego Admirals and Puerto Rico Pasion of the UCBA. We grew up playing all sorts of different sports together, so it’s no surprise to me that they all have been so successful. I think I am a talented athlete, I always felt they were all much better than me, so I had other plans for myself.

While my friends chased their athletic dreams, I turned my mind to simpler but no less important goals. I went to university to become a petrol engineer. Oil and gas is a major industry in Nigeria, and I planned to have a quiet life of math and science. My friends… they would not allow this. They surprised me by having someone video record a day of soccer matches and sent it to coaches. When scouts began calling me and my parents, they pushed me to give it a shot.

Here I am! Let's see what I can do.
