After my last article looking more at the general history of Red Star Laos, and their standing in the league throughout the season, this one will look a bit more at the players which made these seasons possible. This will go more in-depth to the more general records players have gotten in a single season.
Distance Run:
3: Ariadna Tokino Nagatoro Maradona (S8) – 264.8km
In 3 we have Nagatoro Maradona, most playing as an attacking midfielder Maradona was at Red Star Laos in S8, during this season Nagatoro also set the back then record of most distance run, which has since been broken (as seen by the 3rd place in this ranking).
2: Guilherme Guerra (S9) – 264.9km
At 2 we have Guilherme Guerra, the right winger who was on loan at Red Star Laos during S9, and managed to rack up 264.9km, running .1 km more than Maradona, and thus securing the 2nd place.
1: Furious Chicken (S9) – 266.8km
At 1 we have Furious Chicken in S9, playing for most of the season as a left winger Chicken managed to run a massive 266.8km and thus set the record of highest distance run during a season at Red Star Laos.
Notes: One thing to note is that in the top 10 there are no S7 players, this might be because of the massive amount of changes done during the teams first ever season in the SSL. S8 got 4 players, while S9 got 6. S10 isn’t in the top 10, but does have the massive disadvantage of the season not being over yet. Rizzo Rigmarole at 6 is the only top 10 player who didn’t play the full 17 games, only playing 16.
Average Rating:
3: Furious Chicken (S8) – 7.23
At 3rd we have Furious Chicken, the striker was on a scoring streak during S8, getting an 7.23 average rating and coming 2nd in the golden boot race.
2: Josh Burger (S8) – 7.24
Josh Burger was the goalie of Red Star Laos during 16 of their 17 games in S8. With this high of a rating for a goalie it is pretty clear why Burger became the S8 goalie of the season for D2.
1: Mazrim Taim (S8) – 7.31
Another S8 player in 1st with leftback Mazrim Taim. Taim had a 7.31 average rating over 17 games, and was just as Burger awarded with a position in the team of the season.
Notes: Like seen above the top 3 average rating all come from the S8 season, where Laos managed to end with their best finishing position ever in 4th. Some notes to mention are that current Furious Chicken in S10 has the actual highest average rating with a 7.35 but isn’t included as the season is still ongoing. In the top 10 are 2 players from S10, 4 from S9, and 4 from S8. With nobody of S7 being included, which is telling based on their pretty bad first season.
Goals:
3: Furious Chicken (S9) & Olof Sides (S9) - 7
At 3rd we have a draw between Chicken and Sides, the left winger and attacking midfielder/striker both had 7 goals after the 17-game season was over in S9.
2: Guilherme Guerra (S9) – 10
The loanee right winger of S9 in Guerra comes in 2nd, scoring 10 goals during the same S9 Sides and Chicken also scored their 7 goals in.
1: Furious Chicken (S8) – 14
In 1st we have the striker Chicken, with 14 goals in S8.
Notes: In the current 5th place we have a S10 player who is currently on 6 goals, and might be sneaking into this top 3 at the end of the season. Furthermore there are currently 2 S10 players, 5 S9 players, 2 S8 players, and 1 S7 player in the top 10 goalscorers.
Assists:
3: Hunter Jones (S10) - 6
In 3rd we have Hunter Jones who is currently on 6 assists, Jones still has 6 more games to get even more assists and might be higher in this top 3 at the end of the season.
2: Mazrim Taim (S8) – 8
The leftback Mazrim Taim had a great S8 giving 8 assists and thus slotting into 2nd place in this ranking.
1: Rizzo Rigmarole (S8) - 11
Rigmarole is in 1st, with a massive 11 assists despite missing 1 game in the S8 season. Rigmarole will most likely still have this record after this season as it would require Jones to give 6 assists in 6 matches.
Notes: The assists got some interesting entries, including 3 S10 players, 3 S9 players, 2 S8 players, and 2 S7 players it is the most split stat so far.
