Evolution of Tokyo Tactics
#1
Despite the incredibly low amount of player turnover, Tokyo finds themselves yet again in new and fresh formation in almost as many seasons under the eye of their tactician. This ongoing change and constant refreshing has left some people questioning whether there is a functional purpose to all of this change, and if maybe Tokyo would not be better off in having themselves simply repeat their strategy that won them the league way back in S4.

Back then, their winning strategy was the two top striker partnership of Ryze with then rookie Morrelli who had gone on to win Rookie of the Year.

They were then backed by a 4 man midfield, with Touchett sitting at the base of it all being the defensive cover and distributor to allow other players like Isagi and Soderberg to find spaces ahead in order to either progress the ball or make runs themselves.

All of the width provided then was by the duo of Thessenvitz and then rookie Visser.

While this strategy certainly has continued to see a lot of staples such as Ryze and Rup as the opposing ends of the team's spine, their midfield trio of Soderberg, Isagi and GOAT continue to remain a never ending presence.
